What character features are available on Shazzy's Shard?

Shazzy's runs on UO patch, 6.0.1.7, enabling all of the latest features and art available. We currently have Elf, Human, Samurai and Ninja, Professions or Advanced to make your own custom character creation. All of the Mondain's Legacy Features are in. The server is updated frequently and all updates  are posted on the Forum for players to review.

Do you have custom crafts for those who prefer that aspect of the game ?

Shazzy's is a crafters paradise! We have a wide variety of items for players with different skills to craft. We also have a Mad Crafter NPC in Minoc Blacksmith Shop that sells Storage Boxes to keep all your resources organized. Here is just a quick rundown of some of the things available to players:

  • Carpenters: From ML items and artifacts to SE armor, weapons, and furniture to many custom items - all available on the carpentry tools. Carpenters can also use a Saw to make a variety of toys.
  • Granite Crafting: A greatly expanded group of items. From the standard chairs and tables to special Pools and Spas, Grills, Statues, and much more....
  • Marble Crafting: Miners who have read the book on how to work with stone, can use a marble crafting tool to make statues, pedestals and plinths.
  • Alchemists: Aside from the usual potions and ML  additions, they can also make :
    • Pet Resurrect Potions for low level pets( those which do not require taming skill to control ) They also make Paints which can be used by scribes to make Paintings.
    • Alchemists can use a special Crystal Mining Hammer to mine crystals from those formations( the crystal fens on Malas ) and use those to craft VERY special and powerful weapons.
    • They can collect special powders and grind them into Dyes that can be used on metal armor and shields.
  • Scribes:  Slayer Spellbooks , Necromancy Spellbooks, scrolls and more, the Scribe is always in demand for their wares. BOD books and Runebooks are always a top seller too. They are also the group that can make paintings, using the Paints made my Alchemists and a Canvass made my carpenters.
  • Blacksmiths and Tailors: All the armor and weapons you can think to make are available with more to come.
  • Tinkers: No longer a lost craft, many items have been added to the list of goodies that you can make, including Lamp Posts, braziers and other wonderful house deco.
  • Fishermen: Fishermen gather driftwood while out fishing on the high seas. This can be used to make several items, including a working abacus( much nicer than dice ). Also, the ancient SOS, fabled fishing net for the Leviathan and some rare items can be fished up.
  • Cooking: A project we are currently adding to as we go! Making cooking fun and creative as well as providing wanted cookables for other players to purchase.
  • No Skills Required Features: There are many things players can do which require no specific skills:
    • Beehives for your house to harvest honey and wax.
    • Grow Plants : these are very nice and in demand by those who have Beehives and require flowers to make them flourish.
    • Write a Book and sell it to the Publisher in Britain. You will be paid for your work and the book will then be on sale for others to purchase! You can take and revise your published book and republish it. So many things you can do with this to share your knowledge or travels, or perhaps just a funny tale to pass along.

Is there any PvP?

We have a fantastic Duel and Challenge System in, allowing players to do One on One consensual duels. The system also allows players to set up Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Team Death Ball, Death Ball, Team Last Man Standing and Last Man Standing. We are not a "PvP" server, most of our players enjoy getting together to tackle some of the challenging area spawns. Should you wish to partake in PvP, there is the Challenge System, Guilds, and Felucca is available, though we do not promote PK.

What Quests are running?

You will find a Quests and Events section on the Forum. This section contains information on each quest, some hints or clues, and other information provided by our players. You can easily distinguish a Quest NPC by their GREEN name color on approach.

There are TWO things that are very important when you are doing a Quest:

  1. Be sure to carefully READ what each Quest NPC tells you. If need be, write it down.
  2. Look for [Informants] when doing a Quest. You can say simple words or phrases and see if they have any information that might assist you on your Quest( try words like 'hi', 'hail', 'hello', 'where' and some mobile or item names you are searching for to see what they might know )

We run many Shard Wide Events and those will also be posted on the Forum. Some of the recent events include  Sea Horse races across the seas of Trammel, a Fisherman's Tournament and Santa's Lost Reindeer. Upcoming events  are currently posted.

Where can I buy goods from other players or sell goods to others?

Located by First Bank of Britania is a guard tower. There is a gate on the guard tower that will take you to the Player Vendor Mall on Marble Island. A player can request a Vendor free of charge for them to have  at the Mall( one per account ). Just send a PM to Shazzy or Ova and they will get you set up. You find many items there to buy, from things to get started to resources and Scrolls of Power.

You can also purchase a Contract of Employment from the Bankers to place a vendor in your own home - your house must be public in order to do this.

The fees charged by vendors to sell your wares has been greatly reduced in order to increase trade.

I am just starting out, HELP!?

Not to worry! Players here are VERY helpful and if you have questions, just ask by sending a PM or on chat. There is a started dungeon, located through the gate atop the guard tower by First Bank of Britania. There are also many other areas to train your skills up. Players start out with 10K gp, a nice wage, so buying some armor and a weapon to give you a little more help is a good idea( visit the Player Vendor Mall ).

When you start venturing out, always know where the closest healer is! It is dangerous when traveling out of the towns. Use the Moongates to get to other areas and maps, but again, be careful until your skills increase.

Your player can have 900 skills points and 250 stat points. The gains are good and you will be running amuck all over the map in no time  at  all!

There are some Skill Guides located on the forum written by our players, to give you some hints on what to do when to gain in just about every skill to get to Legendary.

What tamable creatures do you have?

We have all the tamable you can imagine and then some! If you want to be a Tamer, you will find great success in Moonglow and be able to gain to about 95 just there alone( see Taming Guide on the forum for more details )

Also in Moonglow and a few other Stables, you will find the Animal Trainer Apprentice. You can sell your pets to the trainer by saying "sell" and he will pay you a nice fee for helping him stock up his stables.

Some of our Custom and latest editions to the list include:

  • the elusive CuSidhe - uses bandages to heal itself and its owner( being updated for our current server, back in shortly )
  • the Reptalon - a powerful fire breathing mount( being updated for our current server, back in shortly )
  • a Mule - a ridable pack mule for miners or lumberjacks over 70 in skill.
  • a Skeletal Steed - ridable by those with 90 Necromancy skill.
  • Frenzied Ostards can also be hunted - some carry a very rare ostard egg on their corpse. When a player hatches the egg, a rare colored ostard will appear! Be sure to have a tamer close at hand to tame him for you!
  • Ridable Polar Bears
  • Golden Dragons - a fine looking beast in the Serpentine Family.
  • Elven Golden Bears and Golden Bears - nice middle road pet to take along.
  • a variety of Crystal Wyverns - a nice pet to take along on a hunt.
  • Heavenly Ostards - when in the wild will resurrect and heal you, as mounts a nice addition.
  • and of course all the distro and SE mounts and pets.

What Veteran Rewards are available and when?

Veteran Rewards are available every 60 days to players on the server. Here is a list of what rewards you can receive at each 60 day interval:

  • 60 days - Black Dye Tub, Special Dye Tub, Furniture Dye Tub, Bronze/Copper Reward Robes, Dresses and Cloaks,  Kamishimo Samurai Reward Robe, Elven Reward Robe (must be an elf to wear), Male Kimono, Female Kimono, Church At Night or Malas Mountain Pass Mini House Deed, Monster Statuettes, Rechargeable Armor Engraver, OSI Weapon Engraver and Commodity Deed Box.
  • 120 days - Leather Dye Tub, Sandal Dye Tub, Agapite/Gold Reward Robes, Dresses and Cloaks, Banner Deed, Flaming Skull Deed, Minotaur Statue Deed.
  • 180 days - Verite/Valorite Reward Robes, Dresses and Cloaks, Shazzy's Shroud Veteran Robe, Monster Statuettes, Evil Painting Deed, Potted Cactus Deed.
  • 240 days - Runebook Dye Tub, Dark Gray/Ice Green/Ice Blue Reward Robes, Dresses and Cloaks, Hanging Shield Deed, Hanging Skeleton Deed, Monster Statuettes.
  • 300 days - Statuette Dye Tub, Jet Black/Ice White/Fire Reward Robes, Dresses and Cloaks, Tapestry of Sosaria, Ankh Deed, Monster Statuettes, Evil Furniture Deed, Blood Pentagram.
  • 360 days - Players can request a Soul Stone for their account! Also available are Ethereal Horse, Ethereal Polar Bear Mounts, Haunted Mirror Deed, Reward Random Brazier, and Pink Cloaks, Dresses and Robes.
  • 420 days - Ethereal Ostard or Llama, Mounted Pixie, Cannon Deed, Crimson Robes, Dresses and Cloaks.
  • 480 days - Ethereal Kirin or Unicorn
  • 540 days - Ethereal Ridgeback, Swamp Dragon, Bed of Nails Deed, Mining Cart Deed, Wall banner Deed, Sacrifice Altar Deed.
  • 600 days - Ethereal Beetle or Charger of the Fallen, Ankh of Sacrifice, Harrower and Efreet Statuettes.
  • 660 days - Ethereal Chimera
  • 2 Year Veteran Reward - Players can select a Blessed Statue = produces reagents that can be collected every day. Lock down and single click to set the Security level. Flippable.
  • 2 years 2 months - Ethereal CuSidhe
  • 3 Year Veteran Reward - Players can select The Fountain of Life = generates Enhanced Bandages. Lock down and single click to set the Security level. Flippable.

We do occasionally add to the list of choices you have for your Veteran Rewards, so it is always good to check now and then to see if something new is available!
